Zurich Financial Services Group Zurich Financial Services Group has announced the appointment of Peter Rebrin to the position of CEO for Zurich Latin America. He has been serving as the interim CEO for Zurich Latin America since Jaime Paredes stepped down in May 2009. In his new position, Mr Rebrin is responsible for Zurich's general and life insurance businesses in Latin America. Zurich currently has operations for this market in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Venezuela. Mr Rebrin will report to Paul N Hopkins, CEO Americas, and will continue to be based in Miami. Mercer recently announced that it has named Mike Ponicall as Migigan Market Leader, In this role, Mr Ponicall will be responsible for driving revenue growth and co-ordinating all client activities. He will report to Sue Gilbert, Mercer's Great Lakes Market Leader, and will be based in Detroit. Mercer has a large presence in Michigan, with offices in both Detroit and Grand Rapids. Mr Ponicall joins the firm with nearly 40 years' international human resource consulting leadership experience, having most recently been Managing Director for Towers Perrin. In this position, he held a key market leadership role worldwide. During this period, his particular focus was on opening and strengthening the firm's presence in China, as well as leading a team that executed a major acquisition in Germany. Russell Investments has named John Moore as the new Asia-Pacific Executive Director of Russell Investment Services (RIS), the most senior RIS post in the region. Mr Moore has relocated to Tokyo, where he is responsible for developing the RIS business in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Japan. Sally Corbett, who was recently promoted from portfolio transition manager to manager of RIS for Australia and New Zealand, will report to Mr Moore. RIS is also hiring two new portfolio manager, one in Sydney and one in Tokyo. The company's services include transition management, currency hedging, emulation portfolio management, agency foreign exchange and exposure management. Watson Wyatt has promoted Damien Loveday to Global Head of Hedge Fund Research, taking over the role from Craig Baker, who also leads the wider global manager research team. The role is one of four global manager research leadership roles, the others being bonds (Margaret Frost), equities (Martin Knowles) and private markets (Jane Welsh). Mr Loveday joined Watson Wyatt from the Royal Bank of Scotland Asset Management's multi-manager team three years ago. His appointment was effective from 1 October 2009 and he will report to Mr Baker. Increasing interest and activity in hedge funds from Watson Wyatt's clients has resulted in the need to significantly increase the number of consultants dedicated to hedge fund research. The hedge fund research team is structured along four specialist areas, with Mr Loveday contribuing to head the fixed income hedge und team, Leon Beukes heading the long/short equity and multi-strategy hedge fund teams and Craig Stevenson heading the fund of hedge fund team. Ben Holley has been appointed a New Business Manager for CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits. Based in Newton, Massachusetts, Mr Holley provides consultative benefit solutions for the international employee populations of organizations in New England. With over five years' producer experience in the employee benefits industry, Mr Holley joined CIGNA from William Gallagher Associates. In his position at William Gallagher, he focused on health benefits for both the local and the international markets and worked with a network of brokers in more than 50 countries. |
